Land Transfer & Succession Planning Workshops

Join RFC and our statewide partners for workshops on land transfer and succession planning.

Each event begins with a performance of Map of My Kingdom - the one-woman play commissioned by Practical Farmers of Iowa and written by Iowa’s Poet Laureate, Mary Swander.  It tackles the critical issue of land transition from the perspective of the farm family members, and offers ways to manage conflict and come up with a successful succession plan.  The playwright will then lead a discussion on how to address family disputes during succession planning.

These events are free, open to the public and will also include refreshments and a presentation by a local attorney about estate planning with Q&A.

For more information on this series and other farm transfer workshops see this article in the Capital Press.
